  How many here went to pioneer school, and who were your instructors?

  i went in 1982, one of my instructors was bill baxter.

  i taught seven pioneer schools, but in another country.

  I went but can't name the teachers. I can say they were so dry and boring, it was torture. They acted as bored with the subject material as everyone else. My last attempt to keep going in that crazy religion.

  Doughnuts To Go, Albert Cobble, yes he has a pyramid scheme involving a phone company. Used to set up all the pioneers and then fly his son in to join them up . All done while "serving" the congo as CO. The service is legit, but they really want you to sign up to sell the product, $50.00. doesn't sound like much, but you get nothing for it.

  I heard he was finally removed for it, but is doing really well financially. The pioneers around here are still pushing it.

  Amputations and Phantom Pain

  has anyone known of a person who has had a limb amputated?

  and then experienced what they call phantom pain?.

  i have seen this first hand and it is quite incredible.

  I haxe worked with amputees and this can be slightly discomforting to severe pain. There are many illnesses that are similar that involve injury to a nerve. The brain is telling the person that the limb is still there and needs attention.

  I don't think it has been totally explained, but there is info on the net about phantom pain and how they treat it.

  They can't explain something that would alter the physical world to the point of extinction. Except maybe to wait on Jah.

  Was that rabbit playing with the snake? Funny, I would have thought it would have run away. Just the oposite happened. How are we to understand this?

  The"smelly stuff "hits the fan

  thurs @ 4 p,m bst (british summer time) the p.o ,or should i say now de-moted co-ordinator(i wonder if he knows?

  ) and a mincer are coming to encourage me.this is the official heavy visit i reckon.

  i havn't been to a meeting since about april this year and have been inactive since a year before that.. i do not want to be d'f'd or to disassociate as i have all my family still in,my dear old mum(nearly ninety,in da troof sixty years) right down to great nephews and nieces etc.

  The CO's around here were famous for coming around and denouncing anyone who worked shiftwork and had to miss meetings for work. It is also pretty hard here to find a job that pays enough to raise a family that doesn't involve shiftwork(without a college education). I used to hate their visits, as they would make my husband feel terrible when they said he lacked trust in Jah's ability to provide on a minimum wage job.

  I went in service once with the CO and he started on the shiftwork rant. I actually told him that my husband would be glad to take a job that didn't require shiftwork if he would like to help support the family, if we couldn't make the bills. He showed such disgust towards me after that. I hope he is one of the CO's that is left to fend for himself.

  I always thought that this life is such a mess, that it has to just be the practice session.

  They sold me down the river and I let them. They said I could live forever, never need to die, on earth. Wow! Physical immortality! Don't have to change locations, ok I'm in. If it sounds too good to be true, well, you know what they say.

  I still think everyone should get to live forever, with the cosmos being never ending, why not us? Not in a physical body though, that just doesn't work from what I have seen.

  My Story - Part 4

  part 1. part 2. part 3. i submitted my regular pioneer application in late 1993 so that i could officially begin on january 1st.

  i knew that my application would get the rubber stamp of approval from the service committee since i had never been involved in any conduct that would prevent my appointment.. i was however slightly rebellious throughout my teens; but it was what i would refer to as a "watchtower rebelliousness".

  you see, i believe that there are two forms of rebelliousness among jw youth.

  Jeremy, I enjoyed reading this part of your story. Pioneering was really an eye opener for me too. It was kind of like putting to the test all the fanciful advice of the society. What I thought would be a wonderful spiritual adventure turned into a very real life discouragement.

  The preoccupation with counting time and the obvious practice of wasting time was infuriating. The longed for goal of pioneer school was a long, slow endurance of monotonous repetition. No deep pearls of wisdom there.

  The nail in the coffin was a study that just kept saying aloud what I felt inside about many of the watchtower doctrines. She could so easily refute them and I wanted to agree with her, but had to keep up the watchtower front. I eventually turned the study over and disappeared because I could not teach anyone what I no longer believed myself.

  Looking forward to the next part of your story. You write vey well.
